Bike & Kayak on Lopez Island

Picnic Saturday night by the pool

September 10-13

Many summers S’no Jokers have stayed at the Lopez Islander with views of Fisherman’s Bay.  We biked around the islands appreciating the astounding beauty then lounged by the pool, and spent time with friends (new and old).  We can do that again this summer!  I’ve made the trip 3 days so we can rent kayaks and explore Fisherman’s Bay and beyond too.

Here's the plan:

1. Sign up for the trip here and pay the $25 fee for the picnic.
2. Make reservations at the Lopez Islander – 360-468-2233.  You can email desk@lopezfun.com too.  I have reserved 3 king rooms and 5 2-queen rooms for those dates. The daily rate is $285.68.  Use my name to make the reservations in your name.  Free cancellation until two weeks before the date.
3. Get together with those who have signed up for the trip to carpool to the island.  5-ride round trip tickets on the ferry are available for car & driver at about a 60% discount making taking your car more affordable.  However, we must plan ahead to use all 5 rides at the same time.  Passengers have available a 10-ride ticket (same restriction as the 5-ride car & driver tickets).  Bicycle & rider, adult & senior tickets can be purchased too.  The trip leader can coordinate the purchase of the tickets to our best advantage.  Summer rates are not posted yet.  The tickets are good for 90 days, therefore tickets won’t be purchased until after that time.
4. Make reservations here for your trip from Anacortes to Lopez on September 10^th.  Reservations advised for your return trip too if you are departing from Friday Harbor.
5. Bring your own bikes, kayaks, and all the gear you will need.  Kayak rental available next to the hotel.  BBQ picnic Saturday night at the pool area.  Restaurants and grocery stores nearby.  The island is small so you can bike everywhere.
6. Bike maps for Lopez and San Juan Island will be available.
