Cedar Butte Hike
Thursday, April 15th
10:00 am
Time to get outside and with the upcoming weather promising a 70 degree day, what a way to start the S’no Joke hiking season. We might be a little rusty so let’s start with a short and easy hike with views of the North Bend area.
We’ll meet at 10:00 am at the trailhead across from Rattlesnake Lake. Here are the directions from WTA:
From I-90 at the east end of North Bend, take Exit 32 (436th Ave SE) and head south on 436th Ave SE, which becomes Cedar Falls Road SE. About 3.5 miles from I-90, pass the parking area for Rattlesnake Lake and soon turn left into the parking area for the Cedar Falls Trailhead (Iron Horse State Park.) A pair of privies is available. A Discover Pass is required. A day pass may be purchased at the trailhead.
Parking not requiring a Discover Pass is just west of the trailhead, closer to Rattlesnake Lake
Hike Details:
Distance: 3.5 miles round trip
Elevation gain: 900 feet
We’ll hike on the Iron Horse Trail now known as the Palouse to Cascades Trail for about a mile and then head up the mountain. We’ll have views of Mount Si, Mount Teneriffe, Green Mountain, Russian Butte and Mailbox Peak.
Afterwards we can stop at the Pour House in North Bend for libations and patio dining.
Sign up on Club Express required or you might be left in the dust. Sign up for Cedar Butte
