Silver Mountain is a hidden gem near Kellogg, Idaho. It has 2,200 vertical feet, 1,600 acres, 7 lifts, the longest trail is 2.5 miles, and on average gets 340 inches of fluffy Rocky Mountain powder snow. On the second day we'll check out, ski at Silver Mtn, then drive to Sandpoint and check in to the LaQuinta. Schweitzer Mountain Resort is a well known favorite to many of us. It is 80 miles from Silver Mountain. Schweitzer has 2,900 acres, 92 trails, 2,400 vertical feet, and averages 300 inches of Rocky Mountain fluff.
